This is a collection of some of my more recent work. All of this work is original, some oil paintings, some pastels and some watercolor- ink sketches. I have been enjoying sketching horses and their riders, local gardens and city scenes here in the German Village area.
The price includes taxes, insurance and shipping to the contiguous US. At every turn of the head there is another painting, another view, another look. This little inner city village is loaded with charm. This is a painting done in the evening at sunset, on site. It is oil on heavy linen. This warm toned painting with its rich black frame is a very captivating image.
Materials: Oil on heavy linen on a thin plywood panel (1/8")
Frame: wood with flat black and has a gold leaf inner bead- very elegant.
Size: Painting is 16"x 20"
I am often asked "do you sell your work" This is the place that you can dig thru images of my work and get an idea of what they actually are and look at prices. I've been paintings in oil for about 20 years, but in the last three years I have been focusing on sketching from unposed life. Much of what you may see represent snapshots of a drawing, then others will be a finished painting. You will notice too that there is a variety of subject matter ( I'm pretty old and have been busy.) Check out "Cityscapes" and you will find dynamic oil paintings of garden scenes as well as architecture mixed in. You will notice my fascination with strong lighting. Then switch over and explore my "Sketches" section. I've been exploring pastels on colored paper, ink drawings with {my favorite tool) a Chinese brush, because of it's expressive possibilities. (I'm always looking for ways to incorporate this tool.) My strong attraction to horses and their care takers you will notice also, I'm constantly fascinated with this powerful marriage. I should say too that these are one of a kind pieces of art.

You may have seen me sketching horses and riders at the quarter horse congress, or at Keeneland; maybe at the World Equestrian Center or Bravehorse. Possibly you saw me down some back alley in German Village Columbus. These are the Studio places where I frequent. Like going fishing, it's me capturing life as I see it, live and unposed. I unearthed this passion back in 1995 while watching my Father in Law do just that. He had filled many sketchbooks with amazing captures of life. He unlocked a door for me that I previously didn't know existed. So my brushes and pens, my inks and paints have been my teachers. I don't mean this in a metaphysical way, but I am learning to watch what I can learn from my brush strokes and color combinations. From them I am learning my preferences.
Feel free to look around my store. Maybe something will be ignited in you, maybe even find something nice to take home with you. If you do you'll notice that the enjoyment can last a lifetime.
